It might be a bit difficult to get 100,000 signatures...

They could at least make it ten years, twenty five is a bit excessive. May Lancias and diesel Toyotas grace your shores.

Repeal it to 15 years?...That's not how it works...That's not how any of this works...
You don't 'repeal' a change to a law.
They need to write something that makes a sense...at least try to put coherent thoughts together. Maybe try to back up your argument...
It's basically the same thing I've said about the three other incoherent petitions.

Even with 100,000 signatures, there is no conceivable reason why this would get the law repealed. There's no incentive to the people currently benefiting from it, and all it takes is for one automaker to sneeze in the direction of Congress to prevent any bill like that from going through.

You need more than a few hundred thousand signatures to change this law. You need broad sweeping general changes to both the federal government and it's constituents. You'd need auto industry lobbyists not to exercise their considerable power and influence to kill it (remember, it's the auto industry, and Mercedes specifically, that lobbied for the creation of these regulations). You'd need a willing president who won't be convinced to veto the changes.
tl;dr -> Saying you're going to get this law changed with a few hundred signatures is like saying you're going to outrun the McLaren P1 on foot. Signing it shows that you care, but it won't do much more than that.

Signed it! Although considering the way that the whitehouse has responded to these petitions in the past, they will probably just blow this one off too.
